Lactobionic Acid
Lactobionic acid is a polyhydroxy acid (PHA) derived from natural lactose. It appears as a fine crystalline powder and dissolves well in water.
Unlike typical alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), lactobionic acid does not cause strong skin flaking, burning, or redness at concentrations up to 5-10%. However, it can still cause allergic reactions in some individuals.
