Azelaic acid is a naturally occurring dicarboxylic acid found in grains such as wheat, barley, and rye. In cosmetic applications, it is known for its multifunctional effects on problematic skin, especially in the treatment of acne and hyperpigmentation.

Application & Usage

  • 2–8% for daily care products (brightening creams, acne/oily skin treatments)

  • Higher concentrations (up to 25%) for professional chemical peels

• Solubility advice:

  • Poorly soluble in cold water

  • Best dissolved in hot water, glycol, or alcohol

  • Can also be pre-dissolved in glycol and added to a cream base

Important: Use respiratory protection and avoid contact with eyes when working with the powdered form.
