Maitake (Grifola frondosa), also known as the "dancing mushroom," is a giant medicinal fungus that can grow up to 50 cm in diameter and weigh as much as 4 kg per cluster. Its healing effects are attributed to a high concentration of polysaccharides such as D-fraction and Grifolan, known for their ability to inhibit tumor growth, combat HIV, and stimulate the immune system.

Maitake boosts both cellular and humoral immunity by enhancing T-lymphocyte activity and promoting the rapid synthesis of B-lymphocytes, antibodies, and G-interferon, which plays a key role in destroying pathogens.
