Description
Lime Essential Oil — Citrus Aurantifolia Peel Oil Distilled
Lime essential oil Aromatica is extracted by steam distillation from the peel of real or sour lime fruits (Citrus aurantifolia Swingle), belonging to the Rue family (Rutaceae). Sourced from Mexico, this bright and invigorating oil offers a joyful, daring citrus scent that uplifts the spirit and clears the mind. Lime oil is celebrated for its refreshing aroma that helps combat negative thoughts, relieve depressive moods, and bring a sense of happiness and carefreeness.
Properties
This pale yellow to yellow-green liquid features a fresh, sweet citrus aroma with vibrant notes reminiscent of fresh fruits, greenery, and freshly sawn wood. The scent blends sharp frosty coolness, tart freshness, fruity bitterness, woody base, and subtle waxy undertones, making it a distinctive and memorable fragrance.
Cosmetic Benefits
-
Anti-Aging & Skin Firmness: Lime essential oil is highly valued for its potent rejuvenating effect on mature and aging skin, improving firmness, elasticity, and helping to smooth wrinkles, especially around the eyes.
-
Oily & Problematic Skin: It cleanses oily skin, reduces puffiness, and refreshes the complexion, making it a popular ingredient in creams, tonics, and balms for oily or acne-prone skin.
-
Body Contouring: Lime oil supports the maintenance of firm, elastic skin contours on the bust, hips, abdomen, and buttocks. It is also effective in anti-cellulite treatments, applied as a massage on wet skin.
-
Hair Care: Useful for oily hair, lime oil imparts a pearly sheen to blonde hair and acts as a natural deodorant.
Note: As a highly concentrated plant essence, lime essential oil must be diluted in carrier oils or emulsifiers before topical use. It is soluble in fats, milk, kefir, yogurt, wax, honey, and salt, but not in water.
Aromatherapy Benefits
Lime oil provides a unique combination of activating and soothing effects. It elevates mood, clears mental fatigue, fosters self-confidence, inspires vigor, and enhances creativity. It also functions as an adaptogen, antioxidant, and aphrodisiac, increasing sensual sensitivity and stimulating charm and adventurous spirit.

Complementary aromas include lavender, nutmeg, geranium, palmarosa, rosemary, violet
These blends are ideal for enriching cosmetics, massage oils, bath preparations, saunas, and home aromatisation.
