Description
Help4Skin Wound Healing, Hydrocolloid Gel
Action
-
Contains acidic carbomer stabilised with carnosine, an essential peptide found naturally in the skin.
-
For dry wounds such as abrasions and surgical wounds, it has an occlusive effect: it inhibits evaporation and reduces fluid loss through the epidermis.
-
Carnosine buffers acidic polymers, thus acting as an antioxidant.
-
Carbomer absorbs excess fluid from moist, oozing wounds and cools and softens the site of contact with the patch and/or bandage.
-
It does not adhere to the wound.
Indications
For use in dry and moist wounds such as:
-
Wounds
-
Cuts
-
Scratches
-
Abrasions and cracks in the skin
-
Superficial burns
Help4Skin Wound Healing can be used on superficial burns of the epidermis and/or dermis, usually characterised by swelling, reddened skin and blistering.
Directions for use
Can be used in children over 2 years of age.
Closed wounds:
-
clean and disinfect the treated area,
-
apply the preparation on the wound without touching it with the applicator tip,
-
Apply bandage or plaster if necessary.
Open wounds:
-
clean and disinfect the wound,
-
dry thoroughly and gently with sterile gauze,
-
apply a thick layer (0.5-0.75 cm) of the preparation on the wound, without touching it with the applicator tip
-
put on a plaster or bandage,
-
change the gel and the plaster or bandage at least once a day,
-
reduce the amount applied when a scab appears on the wound.
Caution! In case of burns - rinse with water first, then proceed to the next points.
Help4Skin Wound Healing is not the first remedy for burns! Immediately after a burn has occurred, the area should be cooled under lukewarm running water for 20 minutes. This should be done as soon as possible, as the beneficial effect of cooling the burned area diminishes over time and disappears completely after 30 minutes. To prevent hypothermia, especially if a large area of the body is burned, the use of cold water is not recommended. Help4Skin Wound Healing should only be applied next, after an appropriate assessment of the extent of the burn has been made
