Active Ingredients

Properties and Action

• provides a calming (sedative) effect

• helps reduce nervous tension and irritability

• supports relaxation and sleep

• helps relieve smooth muscle spasms

• may support cardiovascular comfort (e.g. mild tachycardia, vascular spasms)

The action of the product is based on the combined effect of its components:

• Ethyl α-bromisovalerate – reflex sedative and antispasmodic effect

• Phenobarbital – reduces central nervous system activity, providing calming and hypnotic effects

• Peppermint oil – mild antispasmodic, soothing, and refreshing action

Indications

• neurosis with increased irritability

• sleep disturbances (insomnia)

• supportive therapy in hypertension and vegetative-vascular disorders

• tachycardia

• spasms of coronary vessels

• intestinal spasms associated with neurovegetative disorders

Suggested Use

• Adults: 1 tablet 2–3 times daily

• In case of need (e.g. tachycardia): single dose may be increased to 3 tablets

Contraindications

• hypersensitivity to any ingredient or bromine

• severe liver or kidney impairment

• hepatic porphyria

• severe heart failure

• significant hypotension

• acute myocardial infarction

• depression, myasthenia gravis

• alcohol or drug dependence

• respiratory disorders with dyspnea or obstruction

Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Not intended for children.

Possible Side Effects

• drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue

• decreased concentration and slower reactions

• gastrointestinal discomfort (nausea, heaviness)

• allergic reactions (rash, itching)

Long-term use may lead to bromine accumulation and related symptoms (apathy, confusion, skin reactions).

Interactions

Corvalol may interact with:

• CNS depressants (enhanced effect)

• medications metabolized by liver enzymes (reduced effectiveness)

• alcohol (increased toxicity)
