Method of Production

Nutmeg essential oil (Oleum Nucis Moschati) is obtained by steam distillation of the fruits and pericarp of nutmeg (Myristica fragrans Houtt.).
Raw materials for TM Aromatika are sourced from Indonesia.

Combination with Other Oils

Nutmeg oil blends well in a 1:1 ratio with basil, peppermint, cypress, ginger, clove, anise, and geranium oils. It also pairs beautifully with coriander, frankincense, juniper, patchouli, rosemary, santalum, thyme, tea tree, and most citrus oils (orange, lime, lemon, tangerine). Cinnamon, lavender, and limet oils complement its aroma effectively.

How to Use

• Cosmetic enrichment: Mix 2–5 drops of nutmeg oil or blend with 10 g (ml) of a base such as vegetable oil, cream, lotion, tonic, or shampoo.

• Massage: Blend 5–8 drops of nutmeg oil or mixture with 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil (olive, almond, wheat germ, etc.) or cream of choice.

• Baths: Add 3–5 drops pre-mixed with 1 tablespoon of emulsifier (milk, honey, sea or table salt) to a bath at 37–38 °C. Soak for 10–15 minutes.

• Sauna: Add 3–5 drops of nutmeg oil or blend with other oils to a container with hot water placed on the top rack of the steam room.

• Room aromatisation: Add 3–5 drops of nutmeg oil or blends to an aroma lamp with water and light a candle. Alternatively, apply oil to a napkin or a cup of hot water on a radiator.

Storage

Store tightly closed, out of reach of children, away from direct sunlight, at temperatures not exceeding +25 °C.
