Description
Lemon Essential Oil (Citrus limon)
Lemon essential oil is a vibrant and refreshing aromatherapy remedy widely valued for its invigorating, cleansing, and mood-boosting properties. Its sparkling citrus aroma uplifts the spirit, enhances mental clarity, and promotes a sense of freshness and vitality. Ideal for both personal care and home use, lemon oil helps purify the air, eliminate odours, and refresh the mind and body.
Method of Production
Lemon essential oil (Oleum Limonis) is obtained by steam distillation from the peels of ripe lemons (Citrus limon (L.) Burm. fil.).
The raw materials used in TM Aromatika's lemon essential oil are sourced from Italy.
Properties
This oil has a characteristic bright, fruity scent of fresh lemons—crisp, refreshing, and slightly bitter. It appears as a light yellow to greenish-yellow liquid, which may become cloudy when cooled.
In perfumery and essential oil blends, lemon oil typically serves as a top note, delivering an immediate burst of aroma that fades quickly but leaves a revitalizing impression.
Cosmetic Benefits
Lemon essential oil is prized in dermatology, cosmetology, and sports massage for its wide range of skin, hair, and nail care benefits:

Suitable for all skin types: Helps hydrate dry skin and reduce flakiness when properly diluted; balances oily skin by regulating sebum and tightening pores.
-
Promotes skin regeneration: Encourages the renewal of skin cells, reduces the appearance of fine lines, and firms sagging skin.
-
Brightens the complexion: Offers a gentle whitening effect, helping to fade freckles, pigmentation, and uneven skin tone.
-
Exfoliates and softens: Smooths rough areas, especially on elbows and knees.

⚠️ Always dilute lemon essential oil in a carrier oil or emulsifier (such as milk, kefir, yogurt, honey, wax, or salt). Do not apply undiluted oil directly to the skin.
