Description

Cocoa Butter/Oil, Unrefined, Organic

INCI: Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter

Natural cocoa butter, obtained from the seeds of Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa), which grows naturally in the humid climate of Central and South America, and is cultivated in tropical areas around the world (the largest plantations in Africa). It is also called cocoa fat or cocoa oil.

The butter is unrefined, has the consistency of hard butter, with a light yellow color, a characteristic very pleasant cocoa scent and a mild taste.

Properties

In cosmetics, its moisturizing and regenerating properties are valued (high oleic acid content). It contains many valuable microelements (potassium, magnesium, calcium and iron) and vitamins, which is why it perfectly nourishes the skin.

It has antioxidant properties and protects the skin against free radicals, giving it exceptional smoothness and shine.

It is biocompatible with the skin, which means that it is very well tolerated and easily absorbed by the skin.

How to Use

Cocoa butter is a hard butter, it is recommended to use it in cosmetic formulas, in a concentration of up to 80%. To obtain a more plastic consistency, heat the butter to a temperature of about 40 degrees and then add a small amount of oil, e.g. macadamia oil or sweet almond oil, to the melted butter.

Using butter during massage gives great results.

Butter is an ingredient in many cosmetics, it is often used together with lanolin. Lanolin facilitates the penetration of butter into the skin.
It is an excellent ingredient for the production of soap bases (136 NaOH per 1 g of oil).
