This soap combines ancestral Syrian know-how in the manufacture of Aleppo Soap with the beneficial properties of lemon essential oil, which is extracted from lemon zest.

Lemon essential oil, which has astringent, disinfectant, purifying and tonic properties, cleanses skin and restores a glowing complexion. This Aleppo Soap, enriched with lemon essential oil, is suitable for all skin types, in particular combination and oily skin, restoring tonicity and radiance. Its cleansing properties purify skin, leaving it with a delicate lemon fragrance.

This Aleppo Soap is recommended for daily cleansing of the face, body and hair and is suitable for all skin types, especially for combination and oily skin.

Rub soap on wet skin, wash and rinse with water. For hair, NAJEL Aleppo Soap with Lemon Essential Oil makes an excellent alternative to liquid shampoo. Economical and easy to use, it cleans thoroughly and soothes the scalp.

History

The Al NAJJAR family has been making authentic Aleppo Soap since 1895 in keeping with ancestral artisanal know-how. Aleppo Soap was the first hard soap and has been manufactured for centuries. It is the ancestor of Marseille soap. This know-how is passed down from generation to generation in the Al NAJJAR family’s soap factory in the city of Aleppo in the North of Syria.

Each year from late November to late March, production of the world’s first hard soap starts over again following an unchanged process. The soaps then dry for at least nine months. During this period, the soaps oxidize on the surface and take on a yellow/beige color, whilst the heart of the soap retains the green color of the oils that make it.

NAJEL's Aleppo Soap is made from virgin olive oil and bay laurel oil. Saponified olive oil is a powerful cleanser which nourishes, protects and softens skin. Bay laurel oil is known for its disinfectant and regenerative properties. The higher its concentration, the more the soap soothes irritated or problem skin (psoriasis, eczema, acne, dermatosis).

Made from traditional 200g Aleppo Soaps, this NAJEL compressed soap combines the beneficial properties of Aleppo Soap with those of lemon essential oil, extracted from lemon zest.

Cultivated in the Mediterranean region, the lemon tree was already known in ancient times, when the Romans and Greeks used its wood to make valuable items of furniture. Its fruit was rapidly adopted for its disinfectant properties to clean cuts and wounds. Its astringent and anti-bacterial properties make it the perfect ally for oily skin.
